"Mom Songs" Playlists

I'm fascinated by the "Mom Songs" playlist my twenty-six-year-old daughter recently sent to me. Her point of reference is clearly the turn of the century, and a third of the tracks are spot-on: Hard Candy by Counting Crows, Crash by DMB, and okay I will own up to 100 Years by Five for Fighting. But...Colbie Caillat? Multiple showings (multiple!) by The Goo Goo Dolls? When I asked for insight into her choices she said, "I don't know. They just feel like you." For years I thought I was the coolest breastfeeder on the block, but turns out I was--and remain to this day--a very corny squishball type of mom.
